Instructions

Getting started with your mushroom grow kit is easy, simply:

1. Using a knife, open the box where marked, and cut the bag along the marked lines. Try not to touch the inside surfaces of the plastic as this can potentially contaminate the surface of the mycelium.
2. Spray the exposed area 10 times.
3. Fan your mushroom with a fan or a piece of paper to increase the amount of fresh air and oxygen that it gets. Don't blow air onto it.
4. Repeat step 2 and 3 twice daily
5. Harvest by twisting each mushroom off from its base

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the growing medium get mouldy?

No, the biggest risk to a mushroom kit growing mouldy is in it's preparation phase - which our team carries out in completely sterile conditions. By the time you have the product, it will already have been checked by our team for signs of infection, so it's highly unlikely that you will have any mould or contamination issues.

How much will I grow?

You can grow up to 90% of the growing media's weight in mushrooms! The first "flush" of mushrooms will be about 30-40% of the total crop, with each subsequent crop having a smaller yield (as it consumes nutrients from the growing medium).

Are mushrooms dangerous?

By the time you receive a mushroom grow kit, the growing medium will have been completely inocculated by our oyster mushroom mycelium. That means that there is no chance of growing a mushroom that isnt a gourmet oyster mushroom. All of our mushrooms will look the same. The mushrooms we grow are from a genetically isolated sample so the only mushrooms that can grow in our kits, will be oyster mushrooms. Any issues will be very obvious, especially if you follow the mushroom identification steps in our instruction manual.

Why aren't my mushrooms growing?

If the whole bag of mushrooms is white (covered in mycelium), you've wet the growing medium and they still aren'y growing, then the most likely cause is a decline in fertility from the mycelium.
